Hints and power-ups in Words of Wonders: Hexa

Use the in-game tools wisely, and get unstuck without spending coins.

Words of Wonders: Hexa has its own help tools, and this site adds a gentler ladder of hints on every level page. Here's how both work.

In-game help

  • Hint: reveals a letter on the crossword board. A short tutorial introduces it early in the game.
  • Magnet: a second reveal power-up that uncovers letters on the board. It has its own tutorial when it unlocks.
  • Coins: pay for power-ups. You earn them by playing, from rewards and from events, and you can also buy them.
  • Rewarded videos: the game sometimes offers help in exchange for watching an ad.

Prices, reward sizes and event schedules change between versions and regions, so we don't list numbers that could go stale.

Save your coins: a hint ladder

Every level page on this site reveals the solution one step at a time. Stop as soon as you're unstuck:

  1. Match the tiles. Check that the honeycomb on the page matches your screen. If it doesn't, switch to the other puzzle version.
  2. Count the letters. The word-by-word list shows each answer's length, the same as the slots on your board.
  3. Hint: each tap reveals the next letter of one word.
  4. Show: reveals one whole word and fills it in on the board preview.
  5. Reveal a letter: uncovers a random unsolved square on the board, just like the in-game Hint.
  6. Solve board, or open Show all answers, when you just want to move on.

When to use an in-game Hint

Use a Hint on a square where two words cross. One revealed letter then helps two words at once. Save your Magnets for the long words: once the longest answer is on the board, the short ones usually follow.
